Clean Up day and GSPCA Hash

This Saturday (March 16th) we are having a couple unique volunteering events that I want to share with everyone. The first is a clean up day with ECO SGU which will take place at quarantine point which is near the Grand View Inn. This is the Grand View Inn weekend bus schedule . Quarantine point can be found if you take the bus to Grand view inn, but then walk northward from the bus stop. If anyone needs help getting there contact me and Ill help out with directions or more information. We plan on getting there at 8:30am, but we will be working until 11 and I encourage you all to come anytime during our cleanup to help. I will be providing gloves to our volunteers and ECO SGU will be providing garbage bags. We ask that everyone bring a water bottle for themselves and some fruit to share as a snack (perhaps and orange or a couple bananas). It’s also probably a good idea to bring and use bug spray and sunscreen, although I will try to bring extra. Let me know if you are interested in going by sending me a message, commenting to this post, or by emailing me at johnengelbreit@yahoo.com. The more the merrier so come on down and bring a friend or your student!
Our second volunteering event is also this Saturday and it is a hash that is sponsored by the GSPCA. If you have never hashed before it is a really fun and unique experience of hiking through the jungle with fellow hashers then celebrating after with some good food and cold beverages. During the week you will be able to find more information about the hash on their Grenada Hash House Harriers Facebook page. And if you are interested in transportation to and from the event, information on the bus that picks up and drops off at SGU can be found here. The hash this Saturday will be benefiting the GSPCA so if you come you will be helping them out. They are also looking for volunteers to help our during the event. If perhaps you aren’t interested in the hashing but still want to help out, this would be a great way to do so. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering by emailing me at johnengelbreit@yahoo.com and I will put you in touch with Rita from the GSPCA who is organizing the event. Hope to see everyone there in any capacity! Best of luck to all our students in their midterms or prepping for them, have a great week and we hope to see you on Saturday!
